The group includes any type of fruiting body of fungi used as as source of food. The part consumed/analysed is by default the whole or a portion of it representing the observed heterogeneity. When relevant, information on the part consumed/analysed has to be reported with additional facet descriptors.

Generic term (Level of detail)

A term that fixes a food's general nature but not its specific source. To be used only as a base term in a FoodEx2 code if no more specific term is available. ↩

Raw Primary Commodities (RPC) (Type of Term)

Food taken straight from its source — harvested, milked, slaughtered and so on — with no processing that changes its nature. Think fresh fruit, raw milk, or a cut of raw meat. ↩
